What is the importance of DA for traffic when launching a website?

I am working on a new content website. Before I decide of the name and buy the domain name, I wonder if it's still worth buying an expired domain name with high(ish) DA instead of starting from scratch.
Any opinion?

DA has nothing to do with the ranking of any website directly. Google does not follow any kind of matrics called DA, PA, DR, UR, etc, etc.
All these metrics are introduced by SEO Tools like MOZ, AHREFS, etc. Google is more focused on E-E-A-T nowadays.So try to focus on EEAT more than DA, and PA things.
One more thing, if you are buying an expired domain then it is always necessary to check the previous history of the domain. Either it was used for any kind of PBN, Gambling websites, or Guest Posts websites. The history should be clean. You also need to check the backlink profile of the expired domain.
Check the Anchor Text very carefully when you are buying an expired domain.

You can buy expired to get backlinks to a blog site and then use blog to do backlinks to your main site, it's a lot of work but worth it.

@solenneginx Hi, This Aamit Saini It is good point to purchase expired domain instead of new one. Expired domain already have some backlinks, on this point it is a good move, but if you purchased new one that will be better, because you can select it as per your niche which will suit your blog and in the last it will be as per your choice.

After two days, both URLs were back in the serps:: https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau.html this is the new page /seo/linkaufbau

In the SERPs, when https://chriseo.de/linkaufbau is shown, my new, updated snippet is displayed. When /linkaufbau.html is shown, it displays the old, deleted page that had already disappeared from the index. I have now removed the canonical tag. I don't fully understand the process of what happened and why. If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful. Best regards,

I have created a lot of high DA backlinks for my website for 3 months. But the DA of my site is still less than 40 and it has not changed for 2 months. How to get rid of bad backlinks
So I noticed my rankings going down and spam score going up. So under my spam score there are over 100 links for different websites but ALL redirect to semalt.com I researched it and it says they hijacked a bunched of backlinks but don't know much more. How can I get rid of all those backlinks? I was told I could use the disavow tool but apparently that can hurt my ranking as well. The semalt.com site has no backlink to me - it looks like the pages that have/had my backlinks, they've redirected to them. Can I create a new Website to promote just one set of services from a list of several services?
Hi, I have a 10 years old website, where I promote all my services - around 30 of them under 5 main categories. For example, my current website promotes these services. A service - with a1, a2, a3 services B service - with b1, b2, b3 services C service - with c1, c2, c3 services D service - with d1, d2, d3 services E service - with e1, e2, e3 services Now I want to promote just "A service" with its sub-services into a separate website, as that service is in demand now and also those keywords should be my main keywords. I want to connect my old website with the new one, to increase the trust among users. Can I do this? I hope I am not violating any Google rules by doing this. Please help with suggestions. Thanks. Website not listing in google - screaming frog shows 500 error? What could the issue be?
Hey, http://www.interconnect.org.uk/ - the site seems to load fine, but for some reason the site is not getting indexed. I tried running the site on screaming frog, and it gives a 500 error code, which suggests it can't access the site? I'm guessing this is the same problem google is having, do you have any ideas as to why this may be and how I can rectify this? Thanks, Andrew
